Why This Weekend Is So Important

As we continue through the book of Matthew, the text we will examine is such a reminder of why this weekend (and every Sunday) is so important.  Jesus tells His disciples (and us) in the 24th chapter that war, famine, earthquakes, strife, etc. will always be a part of these days.  But then He says in Matthew 24:13:  But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Our enduring is by God's grace and by God's power.  It is through this enduring that we find assurance of the salvation that we have in Christ Jesus alone.  This weekend is vitally important because it is a reminder that God is always faithful and as we gather this Sunday we will worship Him trusting and resting in His grace alone.

We will thank Him for giving us a faith to endure.  We will worship Him for providing an atonement through Christ so that we might be His righteousness.  This is awesome!  If I didn't have this reminder each and every week....I might start thinking that the days were created for me.  They weren't.  God gave them to us, but they are for His glory.

This weekend is vitally important.  We will gather together and spur one another on in good works and deeds and be strenghtned by His Word and in worship so that we might endure to the end and show His glory!

See you Sunday.

Blessings,

Bro. Matt
