Winter, VBS, and Mission Trips

Just a quick update on a few things for you to be in prayer about.  As winter continues to rage outside...it is crazy how much snow we have gotten....but anyway, as winter continues to rage on, here is something to point you towards summer.  VBS dates have been set.  DBC will have VBS July 5-9 with our family night finale on Sunday night July 11.  This is always an exciting time in the life of our church in the summer.  Begin to pray now for the children that will come and that God will use the ministry of VBS to teach and plant seeds in their hearts that He will grow for His glory and for His kingdom.  VBS is still a wonderful opportunity to pour into our children each year and to the children of our community.  Mark this on your calendar now and if you have children that will attend, make this a priority.  This is also a great opportunity for those without VBS aged children to minister to these children as you serve in some capacity.  More information and sign ups will be coming, but mark your calendar now and pray for this annual ministry.

Also, please be in prayer for the mission trip(s) being planned to eastern Kentucky.  Dates and information will be coming very soon on these trips.  They will be geared for any age and for the entire family to take together.  They will be over the weekend with possibly the Friday before being added.  Pray for the details of this trip and the people we will serve.

Continue to pray for our international trip this year to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  We plan on going the week of July 26 and we will be working with orphans, sharing the gospel, possible sports camps, and construction work.  We may have opportunities for more ministry, so pray for all of these details to be sorted out and for provision to come as we assemble the team to travel this summer.  Stay tuned for more details on this trip.

Of course, continue to pray for the local opportunities we continue to have.  Our service at Meeting the Needs ministry is a wonderful local ministry to be involved in.  Also, always be in prayer for our weekly services at DBC.  This is local ministry that is vital, never forget this.  Please be in prayer for a possible summer day camp this year.  I know there are many other ministry areas we are serving in locally, these are just a few to keep before you in prayer.  Thanks to all of you that serve so faithfully in so many areas.

What an exciting year this is shaping up to be.  May God gives us much wisdom as we move forward in letting "our light shine before others, so that they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16 - Verse of the Year).

Let's take this time of being snowed in to really spend much time in prayer over these ministries.
